Our church scheduled Joani Tabor to sing in our A.M. service. I normally do not give up preaching in our A.M. service very often. Originally I told our music minister to let her sing 3 or 4 songs and then I would preach. The night before she was to sing I first met her. After talking with Joani and sensing her spirit and love for the Lord, I decided to let her have the WHOLE A.M. service. I am so glad I did. Not only is she gifted with a beautiful, spirited voice, but her testimony really touched my heart as it did our congregation. It was exactly what I needed as well as the church. Many came forward, in fact the altar was so full I had to move out of the way. It was a blessing to see such a movement of God. I enjoyed your being there at Kingsport Community Church. So much that I've been playing these 3 CD's I bought all afternoon. What "clicked" me into what you were all about, however, was that shortly after I arived (late) you were telling about how the devil keyed into your mind with the negatives (brain tumor, cancer, heart trouble, etc.) I never heard anyone admit to that and that's what satan does to me for weeks at a time. When I'm trying to fall asleep at night. I couldn't believe someone else had that experience! But is made me listen to what else you were saying and the words to all your songs. What I told you was true -- you made an impression on me. I guess I'm used to hearing even Christian artists for their performance, but this time I found someone who was sincere and caring and real. In fact, when I went to the ladies room after church the words, "in whom there is no guile" stayed with me, and I wanted to encourage you with that. That's what I wanted to say to you when I got all chocked up at the tape table. Thanks for understanding at the time. Incidently, there was too much going on in my head at the time to muster up the strength and the courage to go up front and confess and be prayed for the waning of joy, but I do need a restoration in that area if you would pray for me. I have already begun to pray for you and your ministry and family, especially your husband and brother. God is glorified by your personal love for Him and the ministry He has given you. I was searching the web for some lyrics and ideas and ran across your music! Great Stuff!! My wife has been singing all of ther life practically, in church, weddings, other functions. The first of the year she, her sister and her son formed a trio. The harmony is geat! They really would like to get out more, mostly local, not setting any high sight's, just ministering through their music. My wife Cathy, was in our church choir for the last thirty plus years, mostly in the capacity of director. When they formed the trio, she basiclly resigned from the choir to pursue the trio. Thank you for supporting Tonya Flynt Vega in her fight against pornography and sexual abuse. Victims (and other family members) are so reluctant to come forward with their testimonials because of the shame the perpetrators have put upon them and the fear that others will perceive them as guilty of causing their own abuse. And, yes, most often, coming forward means saying goodbye to your family who wants you to bear the the shame and the secret. But even Jesus said some must not even say goodbye to their family and not ever look back (Luke 9:61-62.) We must all work to call more attention to this rampant and most often secret crime. Joani, I appreciate your sharing. I know that it was greatly needed and will help our church. I stood in the gap for my husband who battled pornography since he was 7 yrs. old. Our marriage was almost destroyed by his cheating and pornography. His heart was hardened toward God even though he professed Jesus and went to church. Praise God, his heart broke and he cried out to God and his life has changed through the power of Jesus and our life and marriage is in the process of complete healing. Thanks for your teaching. I love the website and I love to here Joani speak and sing. She was just at our Ladies Retreat in Altos, New Mexico, at Bonita Park. She help to have a different look on life and how to handle my nonchristan husband. I'm going to put the devil on the run and The Lord Jesus Christ will live in our house one way or the other. I had to leave on Sunday before the service was over, but I had her music tapes and I listened to them all the way home. I would love to have her come to our church in Carlsbad, NM. But not knowing the cost to have her come, that would be out of the question. I work for an airline, which I don't think Joani would want to fly on it is only a 19 seater and of course you get a window seat and an isle seat. I hope to get to here her again sometime. Like I said she was a God sent for me and I praise God that I was able to be at our retreat.
